Instant Gulab Jamun Curry | Gulab Jamun ki Sabji

Gulab Jamun Curry is a typical Rajasthani dish. It’s one of the mouth watering recipes. The curry is based on tomato and yogurt. The cashew paste adds more taste and flavor to the gravy.

Here, I have used the Instant mix for making the gulab jamun, which is easily available in the market. To make the gulab jamun more yummy some veggies are added. You can even use unsweetened khoya to make the gulab jamun.

Trust me even the fried gulab jamun also tastes so good. Lets see the recipe

Ingredients
For Gulab Jamun
Instan mix – 200gm
Grated carrot – ¼ cup
Finely chopped onion – ¼ cup
Chopped green chillies – 1tsp
Chopped coriander leaves – 1tbsp
Red Chilly Powder – 1tsp
Coriander Powder – 1tsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tsp
A pinch of salt

For Curry
Onion – 3 no medium sized
Tomato – 3 to 4 medium sized
Jeera – 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 ½ tsp
Turmeric powder – ½ tsp
Red Chilly Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1tsp
Garam masala Powder – 1tsp 
Yogurt – ½ cup
Cashew paste – 1tbsp
Kasturi methi powder – 1 tsp
Oil – 4 tbsp. 
Salt to taste 

Recipe
Take a bowl empty the instant mix pack. Add all the dry ingredients given under gulab jamun. 
Mix all together and add the grated carrot, chopped green chillies, chopped onions and chopped coriander leaves.
Add little water and knead the dough. Knead it like a chapatti dough.
Rest it for sometime.
For gravy, make a onion and tomatoes into a separate paste.
Heat the oil in a kadai, add jeera and let them splutter and gives its aroma. 
Then add the onion paste cook till it turns golden brown. And add the ginger garlic paste saute till the raw smell goes.
Add the red chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder. Saute it for few seconds.
Now add the tomato paste and cook till oil separates. Now add the salt to taste. 
Add the beaten yogurt and cashew paste. Cook till the raw smells goes. Add water as per the required consistency. Check the salt. Add if required.
On the other side take the dough and make a smooth small sized gulab jamuns. Avoid cracks in the gulab jamun.
Deep fry the gulab jamun on low flame. So that the gulab jamun cooks perfectly from inside.
Add the kasturi methi powder and the fried gulab jamun in the boiling curry. Cook it on a low flame for about 5 to 10 mins.
Now the yummy and tasty gulab jamun curry is ready.
Serve it with roti, pulao and paratha.

Note
Check the consistency of the gravy before adding the gulab jamun. To make the curry more rich and creamy add some fresh cream to the gravy.
